VILLA IGASHIMA is located in the mountains, surrounded by cedar and bamboo forests. The Igashima area in Aga Town, where the villa is situated, is known as one of the most significant heavy snowfall regions in the Kaetsu area. The villa was originally a traditional Japanese house that had stood the test of time in this challenging environment. The historic beams, pillars, and fittings of the building have been preserved, blending the charm of an old Japanese house with modern design elements. This fusion has created a new form of traditional Japanese architecture, beautifully reimagined in today’s rural landscape.
Another major feature of this guesthouse is that it is the first old private house with a sauna in Aga Town, where you can experience a healing time and “totonou” while being surrounded by nature. You can enjoy what you can't experience in your daily life, such as hearing the chirping of bush warbler in spring and summer, or snowfall in winter.

It can be used not only as an inn, but also as a rental space. Please use it as a meeting place for company meetings, business entertainment, and gatherings with friends. Of course, you can also use the sauna. Please contact us for details.

Finnish Sauna (90°C High-Temperature Sauna)

The sauna room, finished with hinoki wood and rock tiles, is set to a temperature of 90°C. You can enjoy the traditional löyly experience, and there is a cooling relaxation space facing the forest. The sauna is also equipped with an Alexa device, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music while you relax.
Semi-Outdoor Relaxation Space

A relaxation space where you can enjoy the sounds of birds while maintaining your privacy. The cold plunge pool, filled with mountain spring water, provides a refreshing contrast to the heat. Relax and unwind with your favorite background music.
Wood Deck Terrace

The spacious 25-square-meter wood deck terrace is the perfect place to relax after a sauna session or to enjoy a barbecue. With tables and chairs set up, it becomes an ideal spot for outdoor enjoyment.
Japanese-Style Room

At night, you can lay out futons and enjoy a restful sleep. Experience the comfort of traditional Japanese living on tatami mats. The edges of the tatami feature a unique pattern, adding a playful touch to the room’s design.
Bathroom Amenities

At VILLA IGASHIMA, we provide Hokurokusousui bath amenities, featuring ingredients derived from peas to add strength and body to your hair. Apricot kernel oil and rice bran emollients coat the hair, protecting it from dryness. Enjoy the refreshing and invigorating scents of hinoki and sage essential oils.

After relaxing in the sauna, feel free to use the shower.
Water Station

We have a water station where you can enjoy tea. Our guest house is also equipped for tea ceremonies.
